We have experienced fog on and off during our cruise. However this morning was the first time we have ever docked in fog. The good old Bridgewater Jerry had nothing on this fog – from the ship you could see nothing past the railing!
However, by the time we were ready to disembark, it had slowly started to receed.
Our first destination was left of the ship to Point Pleasant park. It was very different to The Fields of Abraham as it was quite thickly wooded. We got a very pleasant surprise when we left the main tracks and a doe and her fawn appeared next to us.

We also saw a lot of squirrels. Yes, I know they are a rodent, but they seem to have a lot of character and are very entertaining to watch!

From the park we headed into the city centre. Despite all the hype we had not been interested in trying Tim Horton’s at our other Canadian ports, but today was now or never. They were okay!

From the city centre we headed up the hill to the Citadel. The sun had well and truly come out by now.

After meandering back through the city streets we headed down to the water front.

The boardwalk along the waterfront is a real highlight of Halifax. Another Canadian cuisine experience which we had been told to try was Poutine. Once again, as we passed by all the food stalls, today was now or never!
