Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada

Sydney was our 4th Canadian port. It was about the same size as Corner Brook but it featured a heritage district and a nice water front.

First we explored the heritage area which took us left of the ship. Having done this loop, we then explored out to the right side of town which took as towards the end of the ‘harbour’ and start of the river. The mosquitoes in this area indicated it was time to turn back and explore the parks in the middle if town and then return via the waterfront.

We noticed that a lot of houses in the Canadian towns we have been to are built on the top of built up blocks – great for the snow but it wouldn’t be much fun mowing across the slope of these green, green lawns in summer

It was a beautiful warm sunny day, so we completed the day in one of our favourite ways – up on the pool deck (perhaps with a drink or two)!
