Civitavecchia, Italy

Civitavecchia is the port for Rome. Once again, as we had already had the opportunity to do all the touristy things in Rome, we spent the day exploring the local area. Today we let geocaching be our guide.

After taking the shuttle bus from the ship to the town drop off point we found geocaching bringing us in a big loop back to explore the port and waterfront. Sometimes the challenge was to be on the right side of those ancient walls.

Waterfront area explored, we were then led into the city area.

Our search then led us into the medieval section of the town. All caches found we headed back to the ship for a late lunch and a cooling swim.
