Farewell Tassie Winter!

With June 1st being the first ‘official’ day of winter, it was time for us to head north to escape the cold.

As anticipated, the windy weather made for a rather bumpy ascent out of Hobart, but otherwise it was a happily uneventful journey and we were soon in Sydney.

Hello Sydney!

Fortunately, Jake’s shifts meant that he had Thursday to Sunday off, so he was able to meet us at the train station and escort us to his new apartment.

After an afternoon of catching up we headed out to see Vivid – starting at Darling Harbour and doing the walk around to Circular Quay. We ate and drank at various stops along the way, including the Fire Kitchen at the Cutaway.

We thought that Vivid might be “same same but different” compared to Hobart’s Dark Mofo. But it was in fact a completely different experience. On the plus side it was definitely much, much warmer than being out on a Hobart mid-winter night!
